How Do You Reconcile the Spirit / Matter Dichotomy?

If you're still reading after that headline, I think we'll get along real well.

Here's why.

If you're like myself or the other members of our alliance, you will have no doubt had an awakening experience of some kind.

Psychedelic, tantric, meditative, some kind of flow state... there are no shortage of ways for the budding explorer of consciousness to "blow up" the proverbial onion.

Once you have had an experience of the numinous though, it really does beg the question.

What now?

Reality is an illusion. 

Great.

The ego is a construct.

Cool story bro.

You're still on planet earth, and you're still in a material body...

You still have material needs, and you probably have moral obligations to people around you.

I know I sure do.

Rationalising these away with nihilism or 50 shades of spiritual bypass isn't really my style.

I've also seen that play out terribly, typically over 7 year cycles that can waste a lot of good life, so I took a different approach.

Simply put, 

"Wherever You Go, Go There Fully."

My Buddhist father would always tell me this, and to be honest, it is pretty solid advice. 

You're on earth, so you might as well enjoy it, and find the balance between meeting the world where it is at... making it a better place and having some fun along the way.

Because if life is a game, you may as well enjoy it.

How? 

Consciously Create The Character You Want To Play As.

Sure, the concept of 'Self' is an illusion, but it is a useful one.

Once you realise you can become aware of, and even liberate yourself from many of your conditioned responses, it really raises a lot of questions.

Who do I want to be?

How do I orient myself around a transcendent purpose?

And where are all the other conscious cool cats?

Philosophically I take a 3 step approach to this.

1. Know Yourself.

2. Be Yourself

3. Find the Others

Because if life is a game, you may as well play with others and play to win.

How?

 Integrate and Synergise Towards Your Highest Potential As an Agent of Cultural Change.

When we reach higher stages of spiritual development, we can often leave some parts behind...

Falling prey to the classic, "transcend and reject" trap which is an understandable yet not particularly sustainable approach.

Throwing the baby out with the bath water, so to speak.

These "shadows" cause us to judge, repel and deny the parts of us, which when fully integrated, could be forces harnessed towards positive evolution and leadership.

And the deeper we go into our own psyche, the deeper we can take our clients too. 

It can be tempting to opt out and live on the fringes... but there is a better way.

I Know This Journey From Personal Experience.

Law school drop out.

Left a consulting job at a Big 4 firm.

Met a girl and fell in love.

Travelled the world, retreating from main stream society.

Got existential and asked, "Is this it?"

Briefly became a kindergarten teacher in South Korea briefly while contemplating life.

You know the drill.

A tale as old as time really, and certainly an archetypal and predictable one, especially if you understand Spiral Dynamics.

You can learn more about my story in the tool-kit if you'd like, but suffice to say I realised fairly early in life that the dominant worldview and value system I was born into did not match mine.

So I did what any good seeker does.

I Sought Mentorship and Mastery In The Fields of Personal Development and Culture Change.

I went to Mindvalley and held a Senior Copywriter role, experiencing first hand how mass influence could be used to affect positive change globally. I architected a NYT best-seller book launch and influenced millions of people with my words behind the scenes.

I got introduced to Integral Theory, activism and went deep in to development psychology.

I took those skills with me as an independent marketing consultant, helping launch books like Stealing Fire, to help advance the collective understanding of altered states of consciousness. 

I worked behind the scenes with Flow crew for a year, learning some amazing skills and meeting amazing people...

And simultaneously helping leaders in consciousness studies, like CIIS legend Dr. Jeffery Martin with his work in persistent mystical states.

I even began creating my own courses in personal development and consciousness, having learned a lot through osmosis and my personal experiences.

As I experimented on myself with my own alchemy process... seeking to integrate the skills and learnings from my mentors... to really see what I was capable of.

I started running these development protocols parallel to my marketing work, helping clients get unstuck.

I had the sense that something pretty special was coming together... and then I got a chance to test my theory out.

I Ended Up As the Chief-Marketing Officer For a Small Australian Charity Where We Would Eventually Do Something BIG.

Through a chance encounter, I got involved with a not-for-profit that was advocating for psychedelic-assisted therapy to be legalised in Australia.

They asked me to be Chief Marketing Officer.

How could I refuse?

A good time to integrate my lawyer shadow, and use those advocacy and influence skills… but for good.

We ran a human rights based advocacy campaign that united the country behind a common cause...

We went beyond scientific reductionism towards humanistic compassion, and a systemic approach…

We told powerful stories of the embodied experiences of people the system was failing…

And this often conservative country took a bold stand, reclassifying psychedelics as medicines when used in therapeutic contexts.

TIME magazine, BBC, CNN, AFR all reported that,

"Australia leads the world in Psychedelics".

We had affected systems change at a global level.

The victory was glorious, but the cost was brutal.

I was transmuting trauma for the collective, but my body could barely deal with it. Maybe you can relate.

Luckily I Met A Mysterious Mystic Who Drew Me Deeper Into Energy Healing.

As I left Mind Medicine Australia, I sent an email to my list declaring, “I’m back."

This lead me to meet a magnetic, mysterious mystic who accidentally elicited a potent kundalini awakening in me… much to both of our surprise.

This was unlike any other peak experience I'd had before... because it emerged from within.

I felt a deep energetic to the earth itself. Increased sensitivity to the flows of energy all around me. 

A deeper connection to my own true nature, and nature itself.

This had a totally different characteristic to anything I'd experienced before and made me realise emphatically...

Deep Somatic Embodiment Was The Missing Piece In the Integral Equation.

As I dove deeper into energetics, I started to experience a depth of intimacy I didn’t know was possible.

A connection to myself, a connection to others. A connection to life itself.

I was playing with polarities, and harnessing the emergent force for rapid evolution. The further I pushed into either end of the spectrum, the more capacity and consciousness I could hold.

I started experimenting with my clients, combining depth, developmental, social and somatic therapy into a single synergistic process.

The results were profound…

People were having deep insights, even those that had been doing “the work” for years.

From clinically trained psychologists to gestalt psychotherapists, experienced executive coaches, regular personal development folks, police offers and high performing executives.

This particular cocktail was potent.

And these weren't just internal shifts, these were showing up in people's behaviours, relationships and businesses.

People who'd struggled with intimacy began deep, soulfully satisfying relationships. Even those in existing relationships found even deeper levels of intimacy.

Others started owning their authority and power, attracting speaking gigs, leadership positions and dream clients. 

I wanted to see if it was something particular about my energy or a repeatable process... so I taught the method to one of my clients.

Having experienced this method with me and being a smart cookie, she could easily recognise the patterns when I explained why I was doing what I was doing.

And because she already had coaching experience, she was able rapidly learn it, and use it back on me, her team, and her clients, in just a few hours of intensive training...

It blew away all everything else she'd been doing, and started getting better results for her clients, so much so she wanted her entire team trained in Integral Alchemy.

So we trained her team and they were blown away by how powerful this was, and the incredible, rapid results they could get for their clients.

And it wasn't just for their clients, they were shifting too.

Becoming lighter, less serious, more joyful and better able to dance with chaos. 

This prompted me to codify and disseminate these frameworks and methodology even wider...

And So The Integral Alchemy Method Emerged.

Or more accurately stated, coagulated.

From something I just felt into by dropping into flow, to something more structured, sequential, reliable and therefore easier to explain.  

The Integral Alchemy framework is my attempt to create a synergistic map, model and modality for accelerated evolution in consciousness.

Avoiding bypass, by taking a bottom up and top down approach, at the same time...

It is designed to expand consciousness while remaining grounded, cognisant of the constraints of the material world.

This means you don't have to throw the baby out with the bath water and go live off grid in a passive aggressive community.

It lets you laser target specific areas of resistance with surgical precision, facilitating deep transformation without major life disruption. 

It is a philosophically integrative approach to psycho-spiritual development... avoiding bypass by creating a stable energetic container for deep alchemy with pragmatic results.

It is integrative towards wholeness of the individual psyche, and integrative in so far as it allows high consciousness leaders to play a role in shaping society and culture.

It has been evolving for years, and probably will continue to evolve but it feels sufficiently complete to share now with someone like yourself, that is evidently resonating with what I'm talking about.
